This Privacy Policy explains how VandiGo("VandiGo", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information about you when you use our mobile apps (VandiGo and VandiGo Driver), website and services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account details: name, mobile number, email address and password.
Profile photo, if you choose to add one.
Driver and fleet details: driving licence, identity documents (such as Aadhaar), vehicle registration and insurance documents, vehicle information, and an emergency contact you choose to provide.
In-app messages you exchange with riders, drivers or our support team.

Information collected automatically

Location data (with your permission) to request, match and navigate rides and show live tracking while you are using the app, including during an active trip.
Trip details: pickup and drop-off, route, fare and timing.
Payment and wallet data: your payment method type, ride and commission history, and driver wallet balance and transactions. We do not store full card numbers; card payments, where offered, are processed by our payment provider.
Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, diagnostic logs, and identifiers such as a push-notification token used to deliver ride and account alerts.

2. How we use information

To provide, operate and improve the Services.
To match riders with drivers, navigate trips and calculate fares.
To verify driver and fleet documents and eligibility.
To process payments, commissions and wallet top-ups.
To send service messages, receipts, push notifications and important updates.
To prevent fraud and keep the platform safe.
To comply with legal and regulatory obligations in India.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

Between riders and drivers, the limited details needed to complete a trip (e.g. first name, vehicle, live location during the trip).
With service providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations — including cloud hosting, mapping and navigation, push-notification delivery (Google Firebase), email delivery, and payment processing. These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
With authorities where required by law or to protect safety.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

5. Your choices & rights

You can access and update your account details in the app.
You can control location and notification permissions on your device at any time.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

6. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and associated personal data directly from within the app (Profile → Account settings), or by following the steps on our Account & Data Deletion page. When you delete your account we remove your personal information, except where we are required to retain certain records (such as trip and transaction history) to meet legal, tax or safety obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

8. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the app or website. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
